SectorsPractical concerns by site
Sectors we work in
The electrical work may be similar from one building to the next. The constraints are not. Here is what we plan for on each type of site, before we quote and before we start.
Sector 01
Offices
Most office work happens in occupied buildings. The job is planned so people can keep working, systems stay up and the building’s rules are followed.
Occupied floors
Noisy work, ceiling access and shutdowns are scheduled for evenings or weekends, or phased floor by floor, so staff are not disrupted.
IT and server equipment
Before any shutdown we confirm with your IT team what is on each circuit, how long backup power lasts and the order in which systems should be restarted.
Building rules and access
Many buildings require certificates of insurance, elevator bookings, loading dock times and sign-in. We work to the building’s contractor rules from the first visit.
Clean, quiet work areas
Dust protection, tidy cable routes and clear corridors at the end of each shift, so the space is usable the next morning.
Sector 02
Retail and hospitality
In stores, restaurants and hotels, the business has to keep trading. Work is fitted around opening hours, customers and the equipment the business depends on.
Trading hours
We work before opening, after close or zone by zone, and agree the schedule with the store or site manager rather than around our convenience.
Customer areas
Public areas are kept safe and presentable: work zones are barriered, cables are never left trailing and ladders are not left unattended.
Refrigeration and kitchens
Shutdowns are planned so cold storage, kitchen equipment and point-of-sale systems are protected, with the timing agreed in advance.
How the space looks
Lighting affects how products and rooms look. Fixture finish, color temperature and light levels are agreed before anything is ordered.
Sector 03
Warehouses and light industrial
Warehouses and workshops cannot simply stop for an upgrade. Work is phased so picking, packing and production carry on while the electrical system changes around them.
Keeping operations running
Upgrades are phased by aisle, zone or shift, with temporary power where it is needed, so the facility can keep operating during the work.
Working at height around traffic
High-bay lighting and overhead distribution need lifts. Work areas are coordinated with your forklift routes and racking layout.
Machinery and motor loads
New or relocated equipment often needs three-phase power, new feeders or a capacity check. We confirm the load before the equipment arrives.
Isolation and lockout
Isolation points and lockout procedures are coordinated with your maintenance team, so everyone knows what is de-energized and when.
Sector 04
Multi-unit residential common areas
In apartment and condominium buildings, we work in common areas used around the clock by residents. Communication and safety matter as much as the electrical work itself.
Resident communication
Shutdowns need notice. We give you the dates, times and affected areas in writing, so you can notify residents through your usual channels.
Common area lighting
Corridors, stairwells, parking garages and exterior lighting are used all day and night. Work is planned so routes stay lit and safe.
Access to rooms and meters
Electrical rooms, meter rooms and service areas are accessed by arrangement with the property manager or superintendent.
Shared systems
Emergency lighting, laundry rooms, garage ventilation and resident EV charging each serve many people, so changes are planned around peak use.
